First let me start by saying how wonderful it is to get home to a clean house. $80 is so worth it! I get home and it's like a treat. So, of course, I was in heaven yesterday when I got home. I got my stuff from scrapbook.com and my contacts. So, yay me! It was like x-mas when I saw boxes with my name on them. Not to mention there was even snow - since they packed the stuff with those little styrofoam particles that the kids threw all around the place.

I'm finally more than halfway through The Poisonwood Bible. Now I'm dying to get back to reading as it's gotten really good. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish it today. I've gone overboard with books though. I have about 15 books lined up to read. I can't wait to get to them. I'm really considering starting 2 or 3 at the same time. I'm just not sure how much attention I would put to one that doesn't start off as good as another. So I'm going to refrain from doing that. Some of the books are borrowed though so I'm trying to get those out of the way first. But between the one's I have that are mine and the one's that are loaned it may be closer to 20 books. So much to read, so little time. Yet, I'm loving it!

I was thinking to go back to school within the next 2 - 3 years. I think I want to become a book editor. I would be in heaven if I were to get paid to read books. Wouldn't that just be awesome. My husband is all for it. Let's see if the motivation is still there in a few years. It might just be worth a try.

30th Birthday is now in 2 days. Hopefully, the hubby took care of preparing something fun. We shall see. I'm still getting all prettied up whether there are plans or not. Manicure, pedicure and wax were yesterday. At 4:30pm today is hair (dye, cut and style). I'm thinking of going lighter - but will decide when I'm there. Maybe I'll surprise everyone tomorrow. Also need to buy something to wear. So I plan on going shopping tonight.

And well, that's all I got - same ol' crap.

Wednesday

the Deal-e-o

I just got back from lunch with the girls. That was nice. We were able to get outta the office for a while and just talk about all the very important thing girls talk about... you know, comparing notes.. lol

Other than that, life is boring at the moment. Nothing too exciting going on. Jennifer and Ethan came over for dinner last night. The chef prepared Chicken Fettucini Alfredo ... my compliments to the Chef!

Today, I'm still stuck at another desk and according to our computer guy will be here for a while since the problem seems to be some faulty wiring. My luck, of course.

Plan on getting manicure, pedicure and wax today. Yay me! And Julio's out of town so I'm on my own with the kids until Friday - bleh.

And well, that's it.

*barf*

Yes, barf... that's how I feel right now. I had a very late lunch and then to top it off I scarfed it down (I was in a hurry) and now I feel like barfing. Fucktastic.

My computer at work has been out of commission all morning. And although our computer tech worked his mad computer skills on it... it still no work! So I'm sitting at another work station - which feels uber uncomfortable to me... I'm used to mine dammit, trying to get some work done.

I'm dying to get outta here. Luckily it's almost 4pm already.

Jennifer and Ethan are coming for dinner tonight. Julio is cooking - yum. He's a good cook - it's surprising. Cleaning lady comes tomorrow - yay me! Which means that once Jennifer leaves I have to start cleaning for the cleaning lady. Yes, I do this. It's not part of her job description to pick up all the shit we have lying around.

That's it. Boring! It's rainy and gloomy - more or less how I feel today. bleh.

ShopGirl by Steve Martin

Personally I didn’t know Steve Martin could write so well. The book was insightful, relatable, playful. Steve Martin is a man of many talents and I quite hero-worship him now. As for the writing style, I'm not sure how else to describe it other than to say that it's masculine. Almost every sentence in the book is very short, to the point, and matter of fact like it's written from a man’s point of view. I found it a bit depressing even though it had a (supposedly) happy ending. Yet I found the characters to be very endearing with all their imperfections. They grew on me. If you liked the movie then the book is a definite must.

Back to work... God, I need a vacation.

Julio was going to leave tonight for Fort Myers but opted for leaving Wednesday morning. So yay me! I won't be a single mother 'till then.

My birthday is on Saturday, meaning I have to beautify myself all week. Therefore, manicure, pedicure, wax, and hair dying and cutting are in need.

I convinced Julio to take me on Friday night to the book party at Barnes & Noble for Breaking Dawn. I never did any of the Harry Potter one's and I figured this would be a good one to go to. So I'm looking forward to that. Plus, it's my birfday and I do what I want to.

The girls at work plan on taking me to Happy Hour on Friday for my birfday celebration. So that should be fun. And we still don't know what the heck we're doing the night of my actual birthday. I told Julio I refuse to plan my own event therefore he needs to do it.

I got my sister convinced to go see Cirque Du Soleil Corteo with us - so we bought tickets on Friday. Second row seats baby - woot. Too bad we paid well over $500 bucks for all 4 seats. But still super excited about it! We're going the Wednesday before Thanksgiving like I hoped, and we're doing dinner and drinks at Bongo's before the show. Yes, I like to plan in advance.

We went to Target last night for groceries. I sware we spent $200 on literally what we needed - and it wasn't much. Food is so expensive right now! WTF! I like going to Target for groceries because I can shop around not only in the food stuff, but I can get things for the house, books, movies, etc. Yea, well we can't do that now. Just groceries were $200. Incredible.

That's all I got today. blah blah blah

Clowning Around

Last night we saw Slava's Snow Show. Can I just tell you how beautiful this show was. It was an authenticate clown show - pantomime style. Very Marcel Marceau, Charlie Chaplin inspired. Normally I'm not very thirlled at the thought of clowns, but this was very entertaining. Here are some pictures of the show.

This morning I took the kids to see my grandparents. They love going because my grandparents let them run amuck. My grandmother goes to the supermarket and stocks up on donuts, ice cream, candy, etc. Not to mention, they have a huge yard littered with all kinds of fun stuff that they get to play with. Here are some pics.

The end... and a good weekend to all.

it's Friday bitches!

So we're going to go see Slava's Snow Show tonight. So excited about that! We have second row seats. So we should be getting snowed on all night. Like an idiot, the whole time I've been thinking we had tickets for tomorrow, but nope, they're tonight. Yay!

So I made plans to go to my grandmother's house tomorrow morning since Julio and the boys are all going paintballing. Like that the kids can see "Abila and Ishi" and they love to run around and play in her yard. My grandma buys them a bunch of snacks and treats, so they're in heaven when they go over. I am too since she makes the best Cuban food ever! I bribe her to cook for me and that way she can see her great-grandkids - lol.

Methinks, I shall try to convince Julio to take me to see The Dark Knight this weekend. If not, we have good movies at home too. So either way I'm sure we'll be entertained.

I am trying to convince my sister to come with us to see the new Cirque Du Soleil coming to town in November. I am not sure if she will since the tickets are $125 a pop. But I want to go the day before Thanksgiving. I was smart this year and asked for the days before Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. bua-hahaha.

I've decided that if I read 52 books this year - I will have reached my goal and therefore completed my New Years resolution. That makes 1 book a week, 52 weeks a year. Not bad. There are weeks where I can read more than one, but then there are books that take me 2 weeks to read. So go figure. This is what my nightstand looks like at the moment - not counting the 10 or so books I have loaned out. Or the one's I have in drawers, nor the Harry Potter books in Jenna's room... ugh

I WANT A BOOK SHELF! But I have no where to put it.

Also, a shout out to my friend Jennifer who is having another little boy. I'm so excited for you my friend. I'm so glad the baby and you are both healthy and happy. I love you.

That's all I've got for today. Hopefully I'll be able to get some pics tonight to post tomorrow. Tootles.

Thursday

It's so raining right now. What I would give to be in bed.... ahh the joy to be snuggled up under the covers with a good book... or with the hubby. ;)

Feenees & Fur

So can I tell you how addicted my children are to Phineas and Ferb. Jenna gets home everyday asking for "Feenees and Fur". And can I say that my husband and I look forward to it too. We TiVO all the episodes now. The kids dance around every time a song comes on. It's great. We ♥ Perry the Platypus! Here is a clip to our new favorit song:

On another note, Julio comes home tonight. Yay me! I miss him when he's gone. A lot! The kids do too. I saw Bonneville last night - depressing. Also finished Sleepwalking - pretty good. James has an appointment with the dermatologist tonight for that persistent rash he has. Hopefully, they'll tell me what the hell he has and give him something to make it go away. The poor kid's belly feels like sandpaper.
