The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski

A retelling of Shakespeare's HAMLET set on a dog breeding farm in rural Wisconsin. Very literary, very long and crafted and, ultimately, fantastic. It takes a while to get into the pace of this novel but once you do you will not feel the time has been wasted. Wonderful characters, amazing descriptions. My mind is still processing some of what happened, and I love that -- when a story is so deep and leaves you wondering what comes next for the characters. With no definite 'THE END', a person is allowed to stay in the world of the story and contemplate where it goes from here.
