Welcome to the all new and improved Bookcase of the Week. Every week I plan on showcasing one blogger's bookcase(s). That's right - I've asked them to show us their shelves, their favorite reading nooks and even where the magic happens, where they blog.
I thought the easiest way to get the ball rolling was for me to break the ice. So here they are... my precious bookcases!!
You guys might recognize this bad boy. He's quite popular amongst the ladies. Some of you might recognize him, some of you might even own one of him... that's right, it's Billy from IKEA! I actually have two Billy's and I'm in need of a third - since the first two are completely full now.
This is the first bookcase I got. There's a little bit of everything in here. Back when I was filling it I was more eclectic (not that I'm not anymore) on my reading tastes. Notice the Harry Potter's up top, the Stephenie Meyer's in the middle, and all sorts of adult fiction and chick-lit scattered throughout. I wasn't THAT into YA back then.
This is Billy #2 - now here you can see where my love for YA began to grow. Most everything in here is YA. Except for some stragglers from different genres that I've really enjoyed or they are hanging around until I find them a happy home.
My third bookcase (see below) is smaller. These guys look more like cubby holes. If you notice I even have baskets at the bottom - which I'm going to begin filling with books soon enough. Here I keep my library books, books that I am participating in a blog tour, my more recent acquisitions, and books that I have accepted for review. I guess you would say my more immediate TBR pile - or the one's that I should be reading.
Now whatever can't be found on these shelves is sitting on my nightstand table, or my kitchen counter (because that's where I hold books for a week - just so I can organize myself and calculate what, who, when, why and where.

Last but not least, from left to right - you can find my home computer. I do most of my blogging here, although I also have a laptop that I lug around all over the house. My favorite reading spot in the house. The big windows behind it provide plenty of lighting and for some reason when I lay on the chair it gives great neck support. The last picture is of my dog Grant. He is my constant companion while I'm sitting or laying on my chair reading so I thought he was intrinsic to your understanding of what my reading at home entailed.
And there you have it. The first post for the Bookcase of the Week feature. I hope you all enjoyed a view of my shelves as well as my favorite blogging accessories. Up next we'll see what Rachel from Parajunkee's View has to show us.
I love it! And I LOVE that chair!
