The first in a new erotic romance series, Backstage Pass is a sizzling mix of sex, love, and rock n' roll It's been months since Brian Sinclair, lead guitarist for the famous rock band, Sinners, composed anything. Unable to write the music that once flowed so naturally, Brian is lost without his musical mojo. But when sexy psychology professor Myrna Evans comes on tour to study groupie mentality, Brian may have found the spark he needs to reignite his musical genius. When lust turns to love, will Brian be able to convince Myrna that what they have is more than just a fling, and that now that he's found his heart's muse, he doesn't want to live without her? There are many words I can use to describe this book but I'll refrain myself and keep it to a minimum.  This book was way Hot, Sexy, Hot, Smokin', Hot and yes, Sexy!  Backstage Pass is the first book in what is to be a 5-part series.  In it, you meet The Sinners- Brian "Master Sinclair", Sed, Jace, Trey and Eric.

When I first opened this book I was a little intimidated.  For one, it's erotica, and erotica (although I've read it before) is just not something I read a lot of.  But I was intrigued to read the story since it dealt with Rock Stars... and what else can I say other than Rock Stars are hot!  Well I am happy to inform that Ms. Cunning did a superb job in creating not only two main characters that you grow to love throughout the story, but you are also introduced to the four other band mates that are also just as intriguing and loveable.

Brian is The Sinners lead guitarist and songwriter.  Myrna first catches sight of him while drunk in her hotel bar.  He's the hopeless romantic in the group - but he's also funny, sweet and kind.  He finds a muse in Myrna and quickly finds himself wanting more from her than just a "good time."

Myrna meets The Sinners after she gives a conference at the same hotel they are staying at.  She's a professor and has her doctorate degree on Human Sexuality. After meeting the band, having some intimate moments with Brian and attending several of their shows, she asks for a grant to do research on the bands groupies.  She wants to learn more about their infatuation with these rock stars - which also means she gets to go on tour with them.

Now, I will say there are many (many, many, many) sexual scenes - but even though there are so many (many, many, many) of these sexual scenes, I also thought the story played out very well.  Myrna had issues with trust and accepting her feelings towards Brian.  She came from a messy divorce and the L-word was just something she was avoiding.  Brian was basically the total opposite of her.  He wanted commitment from her, to feel loved by her - I mean the man wanted to whisk her off to Vegas for a quick wedding every other chapter (le sigh).  Their chemistry sizzled and I'm not just talking about during their many (many, many, many) sexual scenes.  They had great dialogue, romance, and interaction with the other band mates, roadies and groupies.   My favorite parts were when Myrna was on tour with the boys.  It was sweet to see how they all respected and came to love her.  I loved the dynamics between each and every character - it really gave a lot of detail into their pasts and how they formed the bonds that they shared today.  One other thing that I found very interesting was that Myrna was about 7 years older than Brian - I mean she was only 35, but still it was  something that you normally don't see a lot of.

Call me a groupie if you must, but I cannot wait to read more of The Sinners.  This is the beginning of a very promising rock and roll series.  The story was addictive, had me blushing every couple of pages, but was also sigh-worthy.  If you're looking for a HOT and spicy tale of love - this is the one I'd recommend you pick up.

Next book in the series is scheduled to release April 2011 titled Rock Hard and it is Sed's (lead singer) story.  Yikes!

  1. Sounds great! I like erotica, but sometimes, I miss the love and romance, cause it's just way too many sex scenes. But this one sounds good and I will give it a try. Thanks for recommending.

  2. One of the genres I don't review is erotica because there are just too many sex scenes! It's like the whole book is all about sex. Usually, there's no story. But it sounds like this one does have a story. I'll see if I can check it out.
