Bookcase of the Week - Starring... Danny from Bewitched Bookworms

Photobucket

This week's featured guest on the Bookcase of the Week is Danny - who is not only my phenomenal blog designer extraordinaire, but she is also a fellow book reviewer.  Now, I really can go on and on about the many wonders of Danny - because yes, she is the sweetest girl, awesome designer, great reviewer, professional and just a joy - but I'll let you see for yourselves.  Here's what she had to say:

Thanks so much Nely for having me on your Blog. I'm happy you invited me for your new feature. I love to have a look inside other people's places and I gladly show off mine! Here we go:

This is my sideboard where I only display pretty things and once in a while I also add some Books that I really love, or just because I love the cover so much. Hubs doesn't think it's so pretty, but I do - so the books stay!!

As you can see, there is Twilight!! I adore the Twilight books and I love the covers. You can also see Beautiful Creatures, a signed copy I got from my beloved friend and Bookworm, Pushy, Before I Fall , because I won it and just got it in my mailbox annnddddddd, Crescendo!!! I might or might not have freaked out when I got this piece of awesomeness..

This is my favorite Reading and Blogging place. With my beloved plaids to snuggle on the couch. You see that I always have all my important precious little devices at hand, my MacBook, my iPad and my Kindle! You barely see me sitting there without them!  I have to admit that I Blog and also do the Blog Designs on this couch. It's not that I don't have a bureau place where I could do that, but I love sitting on the couch with my MAcBook on my knees and a coffee on the table.

Don't tell me how bad this is for my back... I know, but I can't help it!  I just realized what is missing on this picture: a cup of coffee! Because I'm seriously addicted to coffee....yummmie!

This is my Bookshelf and I know it looks super poor, it really doesn't look like a shelf from an avid reader like me. I assure you, I read TONS!!! But, most of my books are on my electronic devices and the other ones (the ones I read before the eBook wonderment) are at my parents house.

Often, I read a book and give it to my mum to read and she keeps it since she has so much more space.

Well, THIS is my real shelf! My Kindle and my iPad, both I love deeply! I bought my first Kindle around Christmas last year and ever since then I read on it and I can't even imagine reading anymore without them.  It's so easy to get new book like in 2 seconds and new releases are instantly at midnight on my devices!

In the middle of this year I also bought an iPad and this makes my husband super happy! I love to read in bed before I drift off to sleep , but since the Kindle is not illuminated I needed a light - this always bothered hubs. (Who can't understand how one can read so much!!) With the iPad there is no need for light and so I can read till the early morning!!  Wooho!!
Danny is hilarious!!  She reminds me so much of me - especially when dealing with the hubs.  Although my poor hubs has come to understand that my love of books is very important and he has learned to sleep with my bedside lamp on till the wee hours of the night and not complain about it in the morning.  haha

For those of you who don't know, Danny lives in Germany - she has a full-time job, designs blogs, writes reviews and reads books - all while tending to her hubs.... I know, where does she get the time?  Danny, thank you so much for my lovely blog design and also for sharing pictures of your home.  If you get the chance, drop by her blogs (tell her I say HI!)

  5. Love it! Her place looks so put-together! My massive assortment of books (because I simply don't love e-readers) never looks this tidy! :)

  8. Way to go Danny... I can't believe you handle all that on a regular basis... now I know why you use a Kindle and iPad to read - you can take it everywhere with you.

@BookSoulmates: Thanks! I have no clue either how I do it, the only thing that is definitely helping is that I don't have kids. :)
