Bookcase of the Week - Starring... Kristi from The Story Siren

Photobucket

This week's featured guest on the Bookcase of the Week is Kristi - some of you may know her as The Story Siren.  Kristi is just a cutie!  She's the founder of the 2010 Debut Author Challenge (which I didn't join this year, but will definitely be signing up for next year!) and IMM (In My Mailbox) - not to mention she always has the greatest reviews on all those YA books that we're dying to get our hands on.  She actually just celebrated her 100th IMM post - can you believe it?  You have to check out her post about it - she has the cutest vlog up.  So I asked Kristi to please, please, please send me pictures of her bookshelves - and she said she would but asked if I could give her some time since she was remodeling her shelves.  I agreed and look at the fab pictures she sent me! I AM SO JEALOUS! (in a good way).

Here's what she had to say:

"This is my new bookcase in all it's glory!!! I love it! My hubby built it for me, I helped out where I could with painting and nailing a few things... I didn't do much, compared to what he did. I think they are pretty freaggin awesome and I hope that I don't fill them up to fast!"

"I rarely spend time in my "office" although I have been in there more recently now that I have that awesome bookcase to look at! And it's not usually that clean.... well that's not exactly true, it usually looks like that, but with a bit more book scattered about."

"These are pictures of my three favorite reading spots. Included is my bed..... I like to read a little bit before I go to bed. Sometimes on Saturday mornings I'll just stay in bed and read for an hour or two before I get up. My comfy couch is where I do most of my reading. And then of course the hammock. That gets a lot of use in the spring and summer.... not so much right now, when the weather is a little bit chilly. I also read in the tub, but I have an ugly un-fancy tub... so I didn't take a picture of that."

Kristi, I thank you for playing along with us.  Your shelves are truly drool worthy - and I love the blue wall behind them.  It definitely makes them pop.  Good luck in not filling in your shelves too quickly - but it looks like you might have some trouble - I've seen your IMM posts and you get a ton of books a week -dang!

For those of you who haven't passed on through to Kristi's yet (and I'm sure it's very few of you), please visit her here (tell her I say HI!)

  2. Check her bookshelf tour at Badass Bookie, and you'll see that she is still storing some more books in tubs and such. ;) Thanks for the extra bits, I've been wanting to see what the rest of the room looked like. Nice to find out where you read, too!

  6. Those pics are fab. Sigh, I want my own house so badly, so I can build a wall of bookshelves, instead of all these individual bookshelves.

    Oh, I want I want!

I LOVE how colorful -- I'm sure she organizes by color which is just brilliant. I mean, I couldn't do it because I'm obsessive about my genre / alphabetical organization but --

Thank you for sharing! And I hope to do her challenge next year too!
