That's right!  These are the top books, movies, tv shows and music that made an impact on yours truly throughout the year 2010.  (Listed in no particular order.)

Below you'll find the books that I could not get out of my mind once I was done reading them.  I fell in love with the world building, character(s), writing... just everything about these stories worked for me.  They blew my mind and are (in my book) worthy of being called BEST.

Best Books

These are the books that I read one and I immediately had to go out and get the next in the series, and then the next, and then the next... and well, you know how that goes.

Favorite Book Series
[started and read all books (available to date) this year]

Although I don't really watch as much tv as most, I do go out to the movies a lot for "Date Night" with my oh-so-yummy hubster.  These are the movies that I liked BEST that came out this year.  As you can tell, I'm very eclectic in my tastes.  There are a few others that I know might have made the list (i.e. Love & Other Drugs; Country Strong; The Fighter; The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Hereafter - maybe even Burlesque) but I just never got around to seeing them.

Best Movies

I definitely don't watch much on TV.  But I am a big fan of the few that I do follow.  I do watch a few other shows (i.e. The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Grey's Anatomy) but that's mostly thru TiVo and I just don't follow them religiously - thus, they didn't make the BEST list.

Best TV Shows

Now aside from reading I would say Music is the next BEST thing. I have an iPod that is close to brimming  over with music.  And what I can't do with a book on hand, then I normally do it with music playing in the background.  These are the artists, songs and CD's that had the most play time on my iPod.

Best Music

And there you have it folks!  These were my BEST of 2010.
What were yours?

  2. I did a music related top 5 for my music meme a few weeks ago. I'm going to have to do the other topics later.

I'm definitely with you on many of your choices. Loved Alice In Wonderland and Despicable Me.

With music...I love Lady A...I also love Laura Bell Bundy and Mika!

  3. @Melissa - Yes... this is one of the best zombie shows evah! I cannot wait till next season - 6 episodes was too little.

@The Mistress of the Dark - I had never heard of Laura Bell Bundy (will check her out) and Mika is also one of my favorites but he didn't make the list since I discovered him last year.

  9. Agreed on SHUTTER ISLAND...great book....and INFINITE DAYS...ditto on the greatness. Oh, I've yet to see TANGLED, but heard it's a lot of fun....and DESPICABLE ME was so much better than I ever thought it would be. HP7 was FANTASTIC, can't wait for part 2 (and yet I can because then the movies will be over...boohoo). Alice in Wonderland was...interesting. Yay for GLEE! AWESOME show...and the music is addictive. On the rest of the music scene...surprisingly enough I can agree with you on Katy Perry there. Her recent album had some great stuff. Sarah Barielles KING OF ANYTHING is too much fun, gotta sing along every time it's on...and Taylor Swift is still holding strong.

Thanks for the trip down 2010 memory lane....have a great new year! ^_^

  10. There are so many here that I need to add to my read/watch/listen list! I was actually very impressed with The Walking Dead as well. I was interested in the show because of the zombies, but they did very well with the characterization and adding other elements of the plot as well. Thanks for sharing your favorites!

  11. There's too much awesomeness to comment on here! Loads of fantastic books and television. I did see Easy A last week and thought it was fantastically funny. I adore Emma Stone, she's amazing.

  12. I ended up picking Alice I Have Been on a whim and could not believe how amazing I thought it was.

And I am TOTALLY jealous that you've seen Black Swan. I bet it was brilliant. I <3 Natalie Portman.
