I am a big Carrie Ryan fan. I've been for years now. I actually discovered The Forest of Hands and Teeth earlier than most and after I read it I knew just how big it was going to be. Needless to say, many moons and two sequels later, I am one of Carrie Ryan's fangirls. So obviously I was absolutely thrilled when I found out she would be in town to kick off her tour for her latest and final installment in her Forest series - The Dark and Hollow Places.
Here are some of the pictures I took for your viewing pleasure:
Here you'll see Carrie speaking about how she became a "New York Times Best-Selling Author." She gave us a lot of information on why she chose to write about zombies, her ten-year plan, tips, quirks and more zombie awesomeness... Love it! After reading us a quick entry out of her new book she agreed to sign all of our books and take pictures and just pretty much hang out with us. She was awesome! (duh)
And there you have it folks, from one fangirl to another, Carrie Ryan and her books are amazing. I was so happy to have met her (squees!!). Now I must leave you so that I may finish off The Dark and Hollow Places (which I started reading late last night and am now a few pages before its conclusion). Toodles.
You LUCKY girl!!! She looks like someone I could hang with. Can't wait to read her next book. Yah!!!

ReplyDeleteThis is one heck of a series. If anything it just keeps better and better. This is a continuation from the second book in Annah's point of view. And I admit, it was one good POV. Annah is waiting. Waiting for Elias to come back to her. It's been year and he is still not there. She is determined to get back to her sister and begins looking for her. What Annah finds is not what she expected.
ReplyDeleteLet me tell you that Ms. Ryan did a great job describing the emotions off Annah. If one thing I enjoy in a book is being able to feel the characters as if my own. I like to read the story and walk in their feet. I felt Annah hearts in my hand. Annah is a strong girl and knows her place. She believes herself to be ugly and keeps all the guilt and hurt inside.
Together they rode to find the gold; they crossed a road to Fort Wingate where they could go back for supplies when needed, and arrived only ten days later at a canyon with a blind entrance. Take shelter in the places to hide from the clouds. The reason: extracting the fat from a plant discards almost all the nutrients and isolates the most calorie-dense part of an otherwise nutritious food.
