Savor the Moment by Nora Roberts

Author: Nora Roberts
Pages: 339
Genre: Romance
Source: Purchased

The third installment in The Bride Quartet, Savor the Moment, is the story of Laurel McBane.  Laurel is one of the founders of Vows - the wedding business that she and her three BFF's run.  Laurel is the artiste behind the lavish wedding cakes that Vows offers.

Once again, I must say how in awe of this series I am.  Although Savor the Moment was the least favorite in the series (for me!), I still love how "feel good" these books truly are.  From its first page you are swept into the whirlwind life of a wedding planning/producing organization.  The four friends are one of the most wanted wedding organizers in their state and Laurel is up to her elbows in fondant.  Her wedding cakes are piece of art.  She will spend countless hours (including losing sleep) in creating a bride's perfect cake.  She doesn't have much time for anything else, but she will take a moment of that time to appreciate, Delaney Brown, one of her best friend's brother.

Delaney and Laurel have known each other most of their lives.  He treats her like he treats the rest of the three girlfriends, as a sister.  He's over protective, over bearing and always gets Laurel's temper going.  This may be because she's had a crush on him since, well.... forever.  When a minor spat gets their tempers flaring and leads to a very hot kiss, a moment of passion might be just what they need to escalate their friendship into a much deeper connection.

I really liked Laurel and Del.  They are feisty and witty and rather sarcastic (which always gets a rise out of me).  They are perfect for one another.  Laurel is a fighter... she's got quite the temper.  And Del, being an attorney, is her perfect match since he knows just how to stand up to her and when to conform.  Their push and pull, the constant bickering and the making up was quite entertaining.  Aside from the lovely characters, I loved the baking.  The details of Laurel's cakes and baked goodies were so detailed that you could almost see and smell them.  I was rather hungry for most of the time I was reading this book.  I may have even snacked on a cookie or two because of it.

Then there was the girls' friendship.  I may love this aspect of the book most of all.  I love when they have their girl time and just discuss the random in's and out's of their lives.  Whether it be their business, upcoming weddings or even their own weddings.  I love how they stand up for each other, always ready to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on.  Parker, Emma, Laurel and Mac continue to be one of my favorite group of friends in contemporary romance.

What can I say that I haven't already about this series?  It is pure unadulterated girlie awesomeness.  Weddings, love, friendships, romance, and food.  Can you go wrong with that combination?  Nope siree, there's nothing you can do to mess that up.  I love that you don't have to think too much in this series. There is nothing going on in it other than love.  No bad guys.  No vampires.  Just regular people falling in love with each other... while you fall in love with them.

I adored this series and I agree the best part is the friendship between the four women.

I have to admit I haven't read any of Nora Roberts (I think I almost get my romance reader card yanked for that). I do have the Bride series on my Kindle though :)
