Manic Monday Recaps (Week 5/03/10)

I had the worst reading week last week (bows head in shame). Seriously, I think the worst ever. And to top it all off, I started about 4 books and didn't finish any of them. I will though. But that just takes away from what I planned on reading this week. So, I'm only committing to three new books this week so that I can go ahead and finish what I started last week. Yes, I'm a loser. Boo!

Here's what I plan on reading this week:

Last week I read the following:
- Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean
- The Weed that Strings the Handman's Bag by Alan Bradley
- Jordan by Susan Kearney

Started reading but haven't finished: (BOO!)
- The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
- Ecstasy Unveiled by Larissa Ione
- The Mermaid's Mirror by L.K. Madigan
- Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith (audiobook)

I reviewed the following:
- How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff [review]
- Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver [review]
- Over My Dead Body: 43 Old Cemetery Road by Kate Klise & M. Sarah Klise [review]
- Nothing But Ghosts by Beth Kephart [review]
- Wicked Becomes You by Meredith Duran [review]

Last Friday night, Vanessa (one of your Book♥Soulmates) and I, along with one of our friends (Mercy), were able to attend an author event with none other than the fashionable and very funny Candace Bushnell.

Candace was just amazing! She was so animated that just hearing her talk brought a smile to my face. She shared some funny stories, talked about the inspiration for her books and, especially, her latest release, The Carrie Diaries. As you can imagine everyone asked tons of questions about Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker and if she expected more hit tv shows based on her books. She answered a ton of questions (as you can tell there were many people there) and then sat down and signed everyone's book(s), took pictures and did all very pleasantly and with a big smile on her face. She was fantastic.

Oh wait, and did I mention she had on the most fabulous shoes on?!? She did. I wanted to take pictures just to share their awesomeness, but I was scared I would freak her out into thinking I had a foot fetish or something so I refrained. It was such a fun evening with great gals and a fab author.

This week we hope to meet Cassandra Clare and Holly Black. So excited about them too! Hopefully pictures will be up at the end of the week.

Only two weeks 'till my Disney Cruise! The kids and I are stoked!

Have a great reading week!
