I don't have a yard, but now I can create a lush lawn on my bookshelf! Aren't these grass bookmarks the best? I love tagging my books. You'll always find something in my books marking a favorite passage or a quote I'd like to share or even just my favorite parts. I think these guys are neat - what do you think?

These make my heart go pitter patter. I love them to just place the edge of a desk in a study or on a pretty windowsill. But even more than wanting one, I want to make one. They don't seem that difficult to make. My crafty senses are going 100 miles an hour thinking of ways to make one on my own. I would hate to deface a book (sacrilege!), but I'm thinking the more used and and abused the book is, the neater the look. What do you guys think?

I haven't done one of my i heart posts in a while and since I recently ran into this beauty, I thought I might share with all my book lovin' friends.

In October, Penguin is issuing a collection of 100 postcards, each depicting a different iconic book cover. There will be all sorts - ranging from classics to crime. Now tell me this isn't a sweet gift for book aficionados?

I think this is just lovely as a novelty gift for a book blogger... don't you?

there aren't any words to describe the giddiness I'd be feeling if I were that guy...

This week I just had to heart this picture. Why? Well, because dang it, I want a tub made out of books. Obviously it's not very practicable and I'm sure I'd be freaking out with worry that I'm going to get the books wet... but I don't care, I WANT ONE!

i heart

Don't know about you guys, but looking at these just make me happy.

Harry Potter Nerd and proud of it! :p

For those of you wondering if I made these, sadly I am not that talented.

I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely heart journals. I love the blank pages and the wonder and joy of thinking of exactly what I plan on filling them with. Sometimes it's just jibberish, other times it's my endless lists, or just plain, old doodling. I always have a purse big enough to carry a book [duh], my journal and my pens. Call me a nerd if you must. These are things I rarely leave home without. So I was just thrilled when I found these:

12 Books in a Box

I think it's just grand to have a journal a month plus I can't help heart-ing the cute color scheme they have going on too. I might just have to get these. :D

Please tell me these are the coolest book cover/book mark sets you have ever seen? I want them all. I don't even own some of these books and I swear I would buy them just to match them up with their significan book cover/book mark set.

Here's a more in depth picture of how it works:

OMG, don't you just love them? Not only do i heart these but I plan on getting some. mwahahaha :)

Isn't my new book cover just gorgeous. I HEART IT!

I was just surfing Etsy, looking for nothing in particular and bumped into the Hide-a-Book Shop. I instantly fell in love with Shanna's "Sweet Birds" cover and ran for my credit card. (I know, you must be thinking about my resolutions, especially that pesky one where I said I wouldn't spend money on random, needless things)... but I NEED this! See I love my books and cherish them dearly. I always take the covers off when reading a hardcover, but most of the books I read are paperback. This cover fits those large paperbacks! Hooray. Now I won't have to worry about bending the edges - which no matter how much I try not to, always happens. Plus, sometimes I don't want people to know what I'm reading... although that rarely happens. See... two birds with one stone. I think this was a great investment... don't you?

GIVEAWAY: Thanks to the lovely Shanna at Hide-a-Book, you all have a chance at winning one of these fantastic and wonderfully stylish/chic (if I do say so myself) book covers. That's right! One winner will have the chance to pick their choice of book cover and Shanna will mail it to you directly. Exciting, right?!!

As always, leave a comment for one entry. If you'd like extra entries just say so in your comment or separate comments (extra entries for followers, Twitter, sidebars, blog posts, Facebook, etc.) ; and for putting my spiffy little button on your blog. Make sure to leave an e-mail address, especially if you are leaving a comment under Anonymous.

And don't forget to drop by Hide-a-Book for a peek at what Shanna has to offer. She even takes custom orders for textbook or Moleskine notebook covers. Very neat.

Rules: This contest is open to U.S. and Canada residents only. The winner will be drawn on Sunday, January 24.

I know this isn't very practicable and it looks heavy... but BOOK NECKLACES ROCK!!!

Carry on.

Folded Books!?!

Although I personally would never to do anything like this to a book... I just can't... books are sacred to me. I could totally see myself buying one. I figure the damage is already done and I just heart bookish things. I even found a tutorial on how to make these... sweet.

Anthropologie's window display.

Then there are these works of art by Michael Bom. You can find more here.

Who knew folded books were so in, right? I absolutely heart them.

For those of you who are not aware, I suffer from (self-diagnosed) OCD - and I make lists... lots of lists. loads of lists. It's actually one of my favorite things to do.

THIS JOURNAL AND I WERE MADE FOR EACH OTHER.

this picture.

I know I've said this post would be book-related... and, well, there is a book in the picture thus qualifying it for my weekly i heart meme's. ;)

This picture actually comes from Anthropolgie's winter catalog. I'm absolutely smitten with their colorful, glossy layouts of snowy goodness. But out of all the pictures, this is my favorite. Why? Well, there's a book in it, duh. Plus I love the snowy awesomeness... just the thought of all that fluffy snow scattered throughout this home just brings a smile to my face. Maybe it's because I live in Florida and for me to see snow I have to pay a couple of hundred bucks to get myself out of South Florida... but snow makes me happy.

Thus, I'm spreading the joy.

With New Moon's release, I can only heart something Twilight related this week.

A theater turned into a book store. Genius!

El Ateneo is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. How neat would it be to sit in a theater box and have the chance to read a good book. Brilliant. If I'm ever in Argentina, this is a must-see for me.

For those of you who are interested in hosting your own i heart Thursday's - link your posts back here. Obviously I've decided to heart book/reading related items, but you can heart anything your lil' ol' heart desires.

I've been shopping for bookends - I NEED THESE! Aren't they fantastic? So chic.

[by clicking on the pictures you can find info on each]

This was the runner up. But it's more of a novelty bookend - you can only stack a short amount of books and it looks like they can't be too heavy or they really might plop over. But I still think it is soooo cool.
