The Duchess by Amanda Foreman

This is the first biography that I have ever read and found it a bit hard to read at first. But after a few chapters I was completely absorbed and transported to 18th century England. It is a fascinating view into a brilliant and ahead of her time aristocratic 18th century lady who broke all the rules. I found it interesting to learn about the politics of the age and how women were involved in the campaigning for same. Just goes to show that people in the past are just the same as now - same appetites, same problems, same tragedy, selfishness, scandal, sadness, and addictions. An Amazing woman, resurrected from the dead.
