Manic Monday Recaps (Week 9/13/10)

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I know mine was too short - but isn't that always the case?  The weather here in Miami was crummy with scattered thunderstorms and overcast skies.  I spent my weekend at home with the kids and hubs.... you can imagine we were all suffering from cabin fever.  I did have one highlight though - I was able to meet author/illustrator Lane Smith - who was so much fun.  But before I get to that,

Here's what I plan on reading this week:

Last week I read the following:
- The Frenzy by Francesca Lia Block
- 43 Old Cemetery Road: Till Death Do Us Bark by Kate Klise & M. Sarah Klise
- The Life You've Imagined by Kristina Riggle
- Five Flavors of Dumb by Anthony John

I reviewed the following:
- The Secret Society of the Pink Crystal Ball by Risa Green [review]
- Dracula in Love by Karen Essex [review]
- Men and Dogs by Katie Crouch [review]

Here are the pics for the reading/signing with Lane Smith.  These were taken yesterday morning.  Books and Books had a great turnout - there were a lot of teachers who were fans of Mr. Smith and they brought along their kids.  It was great!  He's so funny and has this great sense of humor.  Definitely made me laugh.. a lot.

He was the sweetest thing making all these cute illustrations along with his autograph.  Since he illustrates James and the Giant Peach I had him make it out to my son, who is aptly named, James, and Lulu and the Brontosaurus made out my little girl, Jenna.  It's a Book was made out to me - because I love it!  He even drew me my very own monkey!!!

For those of you who'd like to see what I got in my mailbox last week - click here.  Plus you have to check out the hubs' awesome editing job.  I luf him!  He makes my vlogs rock!  I also put some giveaways up - I'm still backed up, but I will hopefully post the rest up this week.  And I will also put up a winners post for the outstanding giveaways.  Tomorrow on Bookcase of the Week we get to see Eleni from La Femme Readers' shelves - so stay tuned for that.

Happy Reading!

Secret Year! I've been wanting to read that.

That is one awesome signing. I love how he drew in the books. That is adorable. Now I want to go to one of those.

LuLu and the Brontosaurus looks so cute! Seems to me like you had a great event.

My parents in Ft. Myers were also mentioning the rainy weather. Mom says its pretty endless. :(

excellent publish, very informative. I wonder why
the other specialists of this sector don't understand this. You should continue your writing. I am sure, you have a great readers' base already!
