Thursday

Not much going on today. Tired- since I decided to finish reading my book last night and didn't actually finish it 'till 12:30a. But I couldn't put it down, I was crying, it was great. I started reading Second Glance today, I'm really liking Jodi Piccoult. It's Thursday already - the workday is almost over. Friday tomorrow, my dad's birthday. I plan on getting him a little cake and taking the kids over so they can sing him Happy Birthday. Then we have Disney on Ice on Saturday and Sunday we have Gillian's birthday party. So Jenna is ecstatic about the whole thing. Me not so much. I sorta wanted to relax. Will do my best to work on that.

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

A wonderful romance between a slightly unusual couple... he suffers from a genetic condition that causes him to unexpectedly slip though time into different stages of his life. He never knows whether he's going forwards or back, and he develops a complex set of skills to enable his survival through this sometimes bloody, always shocking, series of transitions. His wife meets him while she is still a young girl, and as she says, spends her whole life "waiting" for him. At first a little difficult to keep track of where and when the two are juxtaposed, the story itself is a wonderful read and the relationship between the two protagonists is one of the best romance novels I've read in ages. I loved this book - the twists and turns kept me turning the pages even when the plot became a little strained. In the end, Niffenegger carries it off - a complex and respectable feat for a first novel.

Wednesday

We had our "Book Club" today here at work. I know, I'm such a nerd, but I get excited about these things. I don't have many friends that read like I do, so when there's a group of people that like to read and we can discuss book(s), it's like a treat for me. So we discussed My Sister's Keeper and our new selection for this month is The Glass Castle - which I've already read, but since I liked it so much, I think I'm going to re-read it (I just have to get it back from Anais - that bitch - who thinks it's her book). Other than that, life is boring right now. We might be going to Disney next month for Jenna's birthday. Still in the works. Other than that, really boring! I'm down to my last 100 pages on The Time Traveller's Wife. So I should start reading Second Glance tomorrow. Also expecting a book shipment from Barnes & Noble tomorrow (yay) - The Other Queen, Gargoyle and The Last Lecture. That's all I got today. so blah

It's just an ordinary Monday today. Nothing going on. Pretty boring day. I can't wait to get home to read more of "The Time Traveller's Wife" I actually really like it. So yay! I'm excited that I'm reading a good book. One that I've been enjoying so far since the beginning. Hasn't happened recently.
